Day 1 : Ujjain – Mahakaleshwar (Arrival)
Arrive Ujjain check in at the booked hotel and relax. Later, visit Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga {opens 04:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. puja costs INR 51 (General Puja), INR 151 (Vaidik Puja), INR 1,500-11,000 (Rudraabhishek) and INR 15,000 (Mahamritunjaya)} for darshan and get bowled-over by the wondrous architecture featuring a finely sculpted shikhara (spire). The popular legend states that Lord Shiva appeared here as Mahakala to save his devotees from a fierce demon named Dooshan and granted the boon to stay here forever to bless his followers. You would be enchanted to find that it is the only Jyotirlingam where the idol is dakshinamurti (south-facing). Also, it is a Shakti-Peeth (dedicated to Goddess Shakti) where the upper lip of the goddess (who is known as Mahakali here) fell.

Maharishi Sandipani The ashram of Lord Shri Krishna’s Guru Maharishi Sandipani is about 5273 years old. In the ashram, before the statue of Guru Sandipani, Charan Paduka is seen. Lord Shri Krishna, Balarama and Sudama were educated here. It is mentioned that at the age of 11 years and 7 days, Krishna killed his maternal uncle Kansa, after visiting Baba Mahakaleshwar’s city Avantika and lived for 64 days. In these 64 days, he attained knowledge of 64 disciplines and 16 arts.

Mangalnath Temple The Mangalnath Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. It is dedicated to Mahadeva, the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily.

Chintamani Ganesh Temple The temple dates back to 11th and 12th centuries when the Paramaras ruled over Malwa. The Ganesha idol enshrined in this temple is supposed to be swayamabhu (self manifested). Locally, Ganesha is also referred to as Chintaman. His consorts, Ridhhi and Siddhi, flank Chintaman, the assuager of all worries. The temple deity Lord Ganesha is regarded as the Lord of beginnings as per the Hindu beliefs. In the traditional times, the Lord is known as Chintaharan which literally means remover of all worries and tensions. The temple is thronged by crowds of people that come to do away with all their worries at the shrine of the Lord. The term Chintamani is another name used for Lord Vishnu, who is considered as the preserver of the Universe as per Hindu Mythology. Harshidhhi Mata Temple is located at Ujjain, which is said to have been built by famous King Vikramāditya. Vikramaditya is said to have visited Koyla Dungar at Miyani, then known as Minalpur, a port city ruled by Prabhatsen Chavda of Chawda dynasty. Vikramadiya was blessed by the Devi. He requested Harsidhhi Mata, to come to his kingdom at Ujjain, where he would worship her daily. She is also known as Vahanvati Mata.

Vikramaditya is featured in hundreds of traditional Indian stories, including those in Baital Pachisi and Singhasan Battisi. Many describe him as a universal ruler, with his capital at Ujjain (Pataliputra or Pratishthana in a few stories). According to popular tradition, Vikramaditya began the Vikrama Samvat era in 57 BC after defeating the Shakas, and those who believe that he is based on a historical figure place him around the first century BCE. Day 2 : Ujjain To Omkareshwar – Maheshwar(80 Kms / 03 hrs )
Attend the early morning aarti (prayers) at Mahakaleshwar Temple before leaving. If you book the Bhasm Aarti in advance, be present at the temple according to the schedule. Day 3 : Maheshwar To Mandu (40 Kms / 01 hrs )

Rani Roopmati’s Pavillion: A large sandstone structure originally buitt as an army observation post it is known today as Roopmati’s Pavilion. Rani Roopmati – the love interest of Baaz Bahadur lived here and said to have gazed at the Baaz Bahadur’s Palace – situated below and also at Narmada River, flowing through the Nimar plains far below, a river which the queen revered. The Pavilion is a major tourist attraction and offers many scenic views.

Baz Bahadur’ Palace : Built by Baz Bahadur this 16th century structure is famous for its large courtyards an compassed by large halls and high terraces. It is situated below Roopmati’s Pavilion and can be seen from the pavilion.

Rewa Kund : Rewa Kund is a reservoir constructed by Baz Bahadur for the purpose of supplying water to Rani Roopmati’s Pavillion. The reservoir is situated below the pavilion and hence is considered an architectural marvel.

Mandu Darwaza / Gates : Mandu has 12 major gates or darwazas embedded in The wall circling Mandu. The present road, through which Mandu is reached passers though one of these.

Jahaz Mehal / Ship Palace : It is situated between two artificial lakes. It appeats as a ship floating in water. Jahaz mahal was Built by Ghiyas-ud-din-Khilji, it served as a harem for him. It is amajor tourist attraction in Mandu.

Hindola Mahal : Meaning Swing place is so named due to its stiping side wals. The Hindola Mahal was constructed by Hushang Shah about 1425 C.E.
